Since 2007, they have been active members of Kumho Asiana Soloists, an ensemble group formed and sponsored by the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation. As members of the Soloists Ensemble, they have had the opportunity to tour Europe and Asia, performing to a variety of audiences and receiving much praise.
Currently studying with Krzysztof Wegrzyn at the Hochschule fur Music Theater in Hannover, Germany, first violinist Hyuk-Jo Kwun studied in Russia for the past 14 years. As the Second Prize winner of the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in New Zealand, Yoojin Jang has gained much experience as a chamber musician through her prominent role in the KNUA Quartet (semi-finalists at the 2009 London International String Quartet Competition). She is currently continuing her studies at the New England Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of world renowned violinist and teacher, Miriam Fried.
Also well recognized as a recitalist and a chamber musician, violist Hanna Lee is studying with the celebrated violist Nobuko Imai at the Kronberg Academy in Germany. Lastly, one of the most promising pupils of Young-Chang Cho from the Folkwang-Hochschule Essen, cellist Joonho Shim’s outstanding musicianship was once again acknowledged as he received the Grand Prize at the 40th International Jeunesses Musicales Competition, Belgrade in 2010.
The Kallaci String Quartet has received much attention since its formation, and has been invited to perform at the Kumho Art Hall in Seoul, Korea in March 2012.
