John Pumphrey trained as a singer at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow (2007-2009) and the Flanders Opera Studio in Gent, Belgium (2009-2010).
Before this he studied German and Russian at Oxford University and taught modern languages for several years at Winchester College, briefly becoming Head of German in 2007 before giving up his teaching career to study singing.
John is currently a member of the Opera Studio of the Opéra National du Rhin in Alsace. Upcoming song projects include a staged production of Schubert’s Winterreise with the theatre company ‘Theater De Spiegel’ in Antwerp in November.

William Vannpiano |
William Vann studied as a pianist at the Royal Academy of Music with Malcolm Martineau and Colin Stone, graduating with distinction
He has won the Gerald Moore Award, the Great Elm Awards Accompanist Prize and the Sir Henry Richardson Scholarship, and is supported by the Geoffrey Parsons Memorial Trust and was awarded the Hodgson Fellowship in piano accompaniment at the RAM in 2009.
He is a Samling Scholar, a Yeoman of the Worshipful Company of Musicians, a former Britten–Pears Young Artist and Young Songmaker, a coach on the Oxenfoord International Summer School and the Director of Music at St Stephen’s Church, Gloucester Road.
