Biography: Bernarda Fink
Bernarda Fink, daughter of Slovenian parents, was born in Buenos Aires and received her education at the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón, where she used to perform frequently. Acclaimed for her musical versatility, her repertoire ranges from ancient music up to music of the 20th century.
She appears with such conductors as Blomstedt, Bychkov, Davis, Gergiev, Harnoncourt, Jacobs, Jansons, Muti, Rattle and Welser-Möst. On the opera stage, she performed most recently Lucio Silla with Harnoncourt in Vienna, Idomeneo with Luc Bondy and Jesus Lopez Cobos in Madrid and Theodora under Ivor Bolton at the Salzburg Festival.
The 2011/12 season includes Mozart’s Requiem under Mariss Jansons in Amsterdam, concerts with works by J.S. Bach under Nikolaus Harnoncourt at Vienna’s Musikverein, Mahler’s Lied von der Erde in Prague, Mahler’s 2nd Symphony under Sir Simon Rattle at the Berlin Philharmonie, Mendelssohn’s Elias under Ivor Bolton in Salzburg, Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang under Riccardo Chailly in Leipzig and Rome, Lili Boulanger’s Psalm 130 at the Vienna Musikverein as well as Scheherazade at the Prague Spring Festival.
Recitals bring her to the most important venues such as the Vienna Musikverein and Konzerthaus, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, London Wigmore Hall and Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg. Her discography includes more than 50 recordings, many of which have been received coveted classical music awards. Her most recent solo recording is a program with Lieder by Slovenian composers.
