Wigmore Hall Live reaches a landmark this month – with the release of its 25th CD.
In October 2005 Wigmore Hall was the first venue in the world to set up its own record label and as Gramophone magazine said:
“Few concert venues possess the magic to play host to such a project”.
Wigmore Hall Live has been nominated for three Gramophone Awards and one BBC Music Magazine Award. Over 80,000 CDs have been sold to date, in 26 countries worldwide. Two new recordings, from Lorraine Hunt Lieberson and Gerald Finley, have just been released to bring the total to 25.
Sandy Burnett discusses the finer details of the recording process with producer Jeremy Hayes and legendary engineer Tony Faulkner. Christine Brewer and Roger Vignoles also join us at for an exclusive performance and interview.
