Songspace
During Spring and Summer terms 2012, Wigmore Hall Learning will be facilitating an exciting interactive singing and composing project for young people in Primary and Secondary schools in Westminster, Camden and Walthamstow.
Songspace aims to raise enthusiasm and confidence in singing through creative activities and performance. Led by composer John Barber and singer Isabelle Adams, and with internationally recognised soprano Sophie Daneman, students will write their own songs which will be premiered on stage alongside professional musicians at Wigmore Hall on Friday 6 July 2011.
The project will develop creative working across differing age groups and students from Secondary schools will be encouraged to support and engage with the workshops in Primary schools. The project will also support teachers in leading effective singing sessions and develop confidence in leading song-writing in the classroom through inset opportunities and accompanying teacher’s resource packs.
