The Workshop Leaders
John Webb
John Webb is a composer and workshop leader. He has written a variety of works including two operas for children to perform, commissioned by English National Opera.
As a workshop leader, he has worked with all age groups from early years to adults. He has been working with young children for many years, and currently leads the Wigmore Hall's Chamber Tots project, which he has been working on since 2003.
Currently he is also running other projects for Philharmonia Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Excellence in Cities Southwark, Royal Academy of Music, OperaHouse and Sound Connections.
Julian West
Julian West works as an artist in many different settings and circumstances. As well as working as a professional oboist, Julian works extensively for Wigmore Hall, Spitalfields Festival, Glyndebourne Youth Opera and other arts organisations as a workshop leader and educational consultant.
Julian designed the Chamber Tots in the Community programme in 2000 together with Wigmore Hall Learning.
Esther Sheridan
A graduate from the Royal College of Music, Esther Sheridan is a clarinettist. She combines orchestral work, performing chamber music with her ensemble, the Thorne Trio, and education and outreach work for organisations including the Philharmonia Orchestra, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Chance for Children Trust, as well as her involvement in the Learning programme at Wigmore Hall. The Thorne Trio have been involved with Chamber Tots in the Community since its launch in 2000.
Isabelle Adams
Isabelle Adams was a choral scholar at Clare College Cambridge where she studied History and Philosophy of Science. Following that she gained an MMus at GSMD in Early Music Performance.
Since graduating she has been pursuing a career as a freelance singer in consort groups including the Monteverdi Choir, and working in educational settings including Wigmore Hall and Spitalfields Festival.
Robert Adediran
Robert Adediran is a young musician and songwriter who has been collaborating with artists in Europe and West Africa on performance projects for a number of years. Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in 2006 Rob has worked for the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Wigmore Hall, The Lyric Theatre and many other arts and community organisations across London.
In 2008 Rob was the Wigmore Hall trainee animateur, and he currently works as a freelance musician and creative practitioner. In addition Rob directs music education projects for London Music Masters and Resonate:arts.
Kate Page
A graduate of the University of Western Australia, Kate Newell gained a BMus (oboe, first class) in 2004, and was the recipient of the Edith Cowan Prize for ‘Most Outstanding Music Graduate 2003’. In 2002, Kate was awarded the Flame Opal Fellowship, enabling her to relocate to the UK to continue her musical studies with oboist Nicholas Daniel.
Kate is passionate about creating inclusive opportunities for individuals to engage creatively with group music making. She has been engaged as a creative practitioner in a variety of community contexts since 2007, and has recently completed the MMus in Leadership course at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Kate was Wigmore Hall’s trainee animateur in 2009.
Sam Glazer
Sam Glazer is a cellist and music workshop leader. He has led creative projects for Spitalfields Festival, English National Opera and Glyndebourne Education and presented concerts at Wigmore Hall and the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford.
He teaches at the Royal Academy of Music, mentoring undergraduates who are studying Music in the Community. Sam has been working with the Florestan festival since 2006, developing an education outreach programme with local schools.
Sam also plays and sings with the band firefly, who have performed at Wilton's Music Hall, King’s Place, the Roundhouse and in the Royal Festival Hall foyer.
