Silly Old Baboon
This one was one of six pieces written by young people on a half-term course in June 2010 with Ignite, in collaboration with Serious Music. The inspiration for the set of pieces came from the poem 'Silly Old Baboon' by Spike Milligan, about a baboon who wants to fly to the sun! The young people worked in small groups to write the music, using improvisation, call and response and other means to generate material. Performed by the young people with Ignite and Ayanna Witter-Johnson of Serious Music.
