Remembering Wigmore Hall – a lasting gift

Wigmore Hall's Lantern

Looking to the future

The legacy we leave behind is a poignant testament to who we are and what we treasure. We know that our audience members cherish their relationship with Wigmore Hall and are passionate about the music performed here. Remembering Wigmore Hall with a gift in your will can help ensure that this same passion and enjoyment can be shared by future generations.

The difference you can make with a gift in your will

Every gift, regardless of size, can make an enormous difference to Wigmore Hall.

The Wigmore Hall Trust is able to accept donations in support in any aspect of the Hall’s activities and over the last few years we have greatly benefited from the generosity of people keen to help sustain that which they most enjoyed about Wigmore Hall. For example, you could support:

  • • The artistic programme
  • • Young emerging talent
  • • Education and outreach projects
  • • The maintenance of this historic building

And because the Trust is a registered charity (No. 1024838) any gifts made in a will are not liable to inheritance tax.

In Memoriam: honouring a loved one

A donation to Wigmore Hall is a wonderful way to remember and honour a member of your family or a friend who loved music. Your donation in memory of a loved one will help preserve and develop the Hall and its music for future generations to enjoy.

The In Memoriam Donor Book, kept permanently in Wigmore Hall’s Archive, contains the names of persons remembered by a gift regardless of the amount donated. There is also the opportunity of taking either half a page or a full page to commemorate a person’s life with a more detailed tribute.

Naming a plaque beneath a seat in the Auditorium is another thoughtful and enduring way to remember a loved one. You may name a seat in the Hall with a contribution of £2,500 or more.

All gifts are personally acknowledged (keeping the amount of the contribution confidential if appropriate). We will also acknowledge all donors of £1,000 plus on our annual donor board and contributions over £10,000 on our permanent Board in the Foyer.

Memorial Funds

Over the years, many people have told us that they would like to make a donation to Wigmore Hall in lieu of funeral flowers. These donations are wonderful collective tributes to the person who has died and a helpful contribution towards Wigmore Hall’s activities, whether directed to the concert programme or our community and education work.

These gifts can also go collectively towards one of the memorial tributes listed above.

For more information or a confidential discussion regarding your ‘In Memoriam’ gift or leaving a gift in your will please email the Friends Office or call on 020 7258 8238.
