About this concert
In embedding a theme in his second string sextet spelling out the letters of his former love Agathe von Siebold, Brahms believed he would finally free himself from her. Cast more as a duet for violin and piano, with string accompaniment, Chausson’s Concert is a rarely heard gem of late French Romanticism.
