About this concert

Young French pianist Emmanuel Despax returns once more to Wigmore Hall, following his acclaimed Paris debut at the Salle Gaveau. He will open his recital with works by two giants of the romantic piano era: Busoni’s 'Carmen Fantasy'; and Liszt’s mystical Légendes, a tribute to the composer in his bicentenary year, framing a world premiere by British composer Stephen Goss. A dramatic second half will bring the evening to a close with Mozart's Fantasia in C minor and Liszt's monumental Après une lecture du Dante.
