About this concert
Born in Russia but raised in the USA, Eugene Ugorski made his concerto debut aged 8, starred in the Moscow Easter Festival as a teenager, and now – at 22 – is an established name on the international circuit.
The career of Konstantin Lifschitz has followed a similar pattern, with a noted debut at 13 in Moscow and a recording of his school graduation recital that was nominated for a Grammy – described in the New York Times as ‘the most powerful pianistic interpretation [of the Goldberg Variations] since Glenn Gould’s’.
