Gerald Finley is one of the most sought-after baritones of our time and this evening contrasts Schumann’s Eichendorff Liederkreis with a trio of British ballads, providing a rich framework for a new work by Huw Watkins, one of the most exciting of the young generation of composers to have emerged from these isles in recent years.
