About this concert

Finland’s system of music education has produced an astonishing array of internationally acclaimed performers and composers over the past 60 years.

Meta4, formed just over a decade ago, continues to fly the flag for Finnish string quartet playing with palpably fresh performances, collective authority and thought-provoking artistry. The former BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists return to Wigmore Hall with a fascinating repertoire mix, Schumann’s songful String Quartet in A and Fauré’s majestic final composition, completed shortly before his death in 1924.
