About this concert

Now in the tenth year of its professional touring career, the Boston-based Parker Quartet couples one of Haydn’s ‘Apponyi’ Quartets, works in which he was beginning to bring a concert-hall dimension to this essentially intimate genre, with Debussy’s sole quartet, a heady, allusive work from near the beginning of his composing career.

The Parker Quartet won the 2011 Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music Recording for their recording of the Ligeti Quartets with Naxos.
