About this concert
Working without a conductor or instrumental accompaniment, Stile Antico is a vocal group which rehearses and performs as individual chamber musicians contributing to a collective result; and its achievements on disc have been recognised with notable prizes, including the Diapason d’or de l’année and a Gramophone Award for Early Music.
Last year they made a very successful debut at Wigmore Hall with a thematically-related programme largely based on the response to Passiontide of English Tudor composers. For this Easter Sunday concert Stile Antico returns with an extension of the theme: seasonal motets and anthems by composers active through the 16th and early 17th centuries.
