About this concert
Among scions of the Czech chamber music tradition, the Zemlinsky Quartet works tirelessly to promote music and cast light on neglected repertoire by its compatriots. The ensemble’s perspicacious programme connects two works from the Classical canon with Suk’s Meditation, completed in 1914 following the death of his father, a country schoolteacher and choirmaster from a small village in Bohemia.
