Academy of Ancient Music

The course of musical history has been defined by astonishingly short and intense periods of innovation. In Musical Revolutions, the concert series at the heart of the AAM’s work in 2011-12, we explore the moments — from the dawn of the baroque to the beginning of the Romantic era — which gave birth to the concerto and the symphony and produced the glories of the French baroque and the Italian cantata. As well as concerts directed by our Music Director Richard Egarr, we’ll be welcoming Alina Ibragimova and Jonathan Cohen for their debuts with the AAM./
Outside the Musical Revolutions series, in November 2012 we present a special Halloween tribute to the place of the occult and extraordinary in inspiring great music. Bewitching soprano Rebecca Bottone joins the acclaimed violinist and AAM leader Pavlo Beznosiuk.
