About this CD

Dame Felicity Lott and Graham Johnson’s concert at Wigmore Hall on 6 June 2005 marked the 30th anniversary of their close relationship with the Hall.

Both artists are admired throughout the world and this concert, entitled ‘Fallen Women and Virtuous Wives’ is a truly varied collection of musical memories where, as Johnson says “German lieder jostles with show music, and French mélodie stands next to folksong and cabaret.”

Reviews

“Felicity Lott’s wicked way with the lighter range of song – folk songs, cabaret, show tunes, French mélodie – accounts for half the triumph of this disc. The rest stems from the pianist Graham Johnson’s inventive programming … this lovely disc is much more than a souvenir” The Times

“Flott-lovers should flock to lay their hands on this very live recital, focusing on Flott as chanteuse” BBC Music Magazine

"Lott sings a varied programme with polish, wit and style, giving younger singers stern lessons in diction and enunciation” The Observer
