An important note about using electronic devices at Wigmore Hall
Mon 21 Sep 2026
We’re committed to creating the best concert experience for artists, audiences, and project participants. To this end, please read this updated guidance on using devices in the auditorium.
Mobile devices
We ask that all mobile devices are powered off completely during the performance. If there is an important reason for a device to be left switched on (e.g. medical reasons), please ensure it is set to silent.
Hearing aids
If your hearing aids have a music setting, this should be selected. To avoid the high-pitched feedback sound (“whistling”) that can affect concerts, recordings and broadcasts, hearing aids should be snugly and securely fitted, and set to a comfortable volume. If you remain concerned that your hearing aids may be generating feedback, your audiologist will be able to make adjustments to resolve the issue. Please take a little time to ensure that hearing aids are snugly and securely fitted before the concert begins.
Photography and filming
Photography or filming during the performance itself, or between pieces, is not permitted. We welcome photography and filming at the end of concerts, during applause.
We hope this advice is useful and wish you many happy concert experiences for the season ahead.
