Wigmore Hall enters a new era for its in-house label, Wigmore Hall Live, relaunching it as a digital-only platform in partnership with Apple Music Classical as part of the Hall’s 125th Anniversary celebrations in summer 2026.

Under a new artist-first model, Wigmore Hall will pay the full production costs for every release and will take no share of recording income, passing on 100% of royalties received directly to the performing artists, reaffirming the Hall’s longstanding commitment to supporting its artists. Wigmore Hall Live will release four digital-only albums per year, all including digital liner-note booklets and special audio commentaries recorded by the artists, with repertoire developed in close collaboration with the performers and recordings drawn from live performances at the Hall.

The first release, out Friday 5 June, features pianist Boris Giltburg performing Beethoven’s Piano Sonatas Nos. 4, 8 (“Pathétique”), 9, 20 and 26 (“Les Adieux”), which you can listen to on Apple Music Classical here.
