Overview

Admired for her exceptional maturity and supreme musicianship, Elisabeth Brauss made her mark in the UK as a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist from 2018 to 2020. The German pianist opens her Wigmore Hall Piano Festival programme with the charm of Mozart’s Piano Sonata in F. It prepares the way for a selection of pieces from Fourteen Bagatelles BB50 Op. 6, experimental miniatures in which Bartók departed from the solid tonal foundations of western harmony; Messiaen’s tender ‘kiss of the Infant Jesus’; and the romanticism of Chopin’s F minor Fantasy.
