This important recital, which launches Richard Stokes’s new book, The Carl Loewe Song Companion, presents some of the composer’s greatest ballads, his wonderfully tender Frauenliebe, a group of his finest Goethe-Lieder, and several of his unaccountably neglected lyrical gems.
