Overview

Wigmore Hall’s commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Britten’s death continues with an evening devoted to the composer’s Canticles, each of which tells a story with unerring clarity and arresting dramatic impact. Allan Clayton and James Baillieu establish the spiritually charged atmosphere common to the full set of Canticles with My beloved is mine and are joined by an ensemble of peerless Britten interpreters in the four other works.
