Overview
Mortality and the emotional impact of the natural world are the among the themes that connect Schubert and Janáček. Cédric Tiberghien, praised by Le Monde as quite simply an ‘exceptional artist’, traverses the poetic contrasts of Schubert’s Klavierstücke, intense, intimate compositions marked by quicksilver changes of mood, before taking in the cycle of 10 strikingly evocative miniatures that form the first book of Janáček’s On an Overgrown Path.
