Overview
Join the Signum Quartet this lunchtime as it journeys through vibrant, gripping musical landscapes. Its itinerary starts with Haydn’s Op. 20 No. 1, the first of six pioneering works that set the formal and inventive template followed by composers long after their publication in the early 1770s. It continues with the irresistible rhythmic pirouettes of unTsiki by South African jazz pianist Paul Hanmer and ranges through the intense emotions of Janáček’s First String Quartet to reach the unsettling world of Radiohead’s Paranoid Android, an alternative rock classic first released 30 years ago.
