Guided Tour of Ham House
This event is only bookable to Friends of Wigmore Hall. Find out more about becoming a Friend of Wigmore Hall.
Join the Friends for a guided tour of this atmospheric 17th-century house which sits on the banks of the River Thames in Richmond. It is the creation of the tenacious Duchess of Lauderdale and her husband, the Duke, who together transformed Ham into one of the grandest Stuart houses in England.
Ham House is internationally recognised for its superb collection of paintings, furniture and textiles largely acquired 400 years ago, and houses unique objects such as a rare Chinese teapot (said to have been used by the Duchess herself) and an exotic ivory cabinet. The tour of the house will last approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, and then you will be free to explore the surrounding gardens at your leisure.
