Overview
Members of the Czech ensemble join with the Russian virtuoso for a traversal of the first two of Brahms’s three works for the piano quartet medium. Written between 1856-61, No. 1 was premièred in Hamburg in 1861 with Clara Schumann at the keyboard. Completed that same year, its larger successor received its first performance with the composer at the piano.
