Overview

Natalie Klouda’s Suite for solo cello, first performed in 2017, draws inspiration from Bach’s cello suites and Indian classical music. It forms the poignant preface to Adès’s seven-movement string quartet, Arcadiana, with its fleeting images of a rustic idyll, and Schubert’s miraculous String Quintet, completed just two months before his death.
