Overview
Ireland’s diaspora carried an endless supply of songs and dances from the homeland to destinations overseas. Gavan Ring and Fiachra Garvey celebrate St Patrick’s Day with another rich source of the songs of travel, before turning to Stephen McNeff’s Ballads of a Bogman, a cycle of songs to the poetry of Sigerson Clifford, with its striking evocations of the South Kerry countryside and the little town of Cahersiveen.
