Programme

Overview

Pavel Kolesnikov’s pianism reflects his highly attuned emotional insights and expressive sensitivity, qualities ideally matched to Skryabin's Vers la flamme and Janáček’s ‘From the Street’, a memorial to a student killed during demonstrations in Brno. He and regular duo partner Samson Tsoy open with Schubert’s strikingly original Fantasie and explore the monumental Grosse Fuge in the version Beethoven made for piano four hands.
