    Overview

    Although audiences may have grown used to stunning feats of wind-playing virtuosity, Calefax Reed Quintet can still astonish with its breath-taking technical mastery and equally dazzling range of tonal colours and expressive shadings. The groups brings its fresh take on the wind quintet to a veritable banquet of compositions, including the graceful theme and brilliant variations of Bach’s Aria variata and a swinging, smile-inducing arrangement of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.
