Overview

New Zealand-born pianist Ruiyang Leon Chen is Repetiteur Fellow at the Royal Academy of Music. He was the recipient of the Accompanist’s Prize at the Academy’s Bicentenary Awards in 2023. Recent performances include the Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland, Lucerne Festival in Switzerland and a collaboration with Chineke! Orchestra. This programme culminates in his own transcription of Skryabin's symphonic poem which tracks the ascent of the ‘Spirit’ into consciousness through musical mysticism.
