Based on the book by Giles Andreae and Guy Parker-Rees, The Chimpanzees of Happytown is Music in the Round’s live concert for young children. With original music by their Children’s Composer in Residence Paul Rissmann, performed by Ensemble 360 and narrator Polly Ives, this captivating concert included projected images from the book and irresistibly catchy songs.

We particularly enjoyed the activity on page 6 of the concert resource pack - creating storm sounds using vocal and body sound effects!

Before watching the concert, why not practise your storm sounds with the examples below?

Wind – blow
Light rain – finger taps or clicks
Heavier rain – clap hands
Even heavier rain – pat knees
Thunder – stamp feet

Why not take it further and create storm sounds using objects around the home? For example, you could use pots and pans to create a loud thunderstorm!
