Overview

The young Bavarian soprano Christiane Karg made a prodigious debut at the 2006 Salzburg Festival, joined the Frankfurt Opera company, and soon found herself with an international career. In 2009 she was declared Young Singer of the Year by Opernwelt magazine.

In 2010 her first Lieder CD won an Echo Klassik award. She’s now busily singing the lighter lyric repertoire – Susanna, Musetta, Pamina, Zerlina – in leading opera houses. For this recital she’s organised a thematically linked programme: botanical in the first half, nocturnal in the second, and finishing with more of the night in Berg’s Seven Early Songs.
