Overview

A rising star amongst baritones, the British-Russian artist here collaborates with an equally prominent pianist in a programme juxtaposing grief and hope in times of conflict. The programme includes Shawn E Okpebholo's poignant work reflecting on the racist attacks on the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama in 1963, and the Mother Emanuel AME Church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina in 2015, on texts by Dudley Randall and Marcus Amaker.
