Overview

Popular works by Beethoven and Schubert are set alongside less familiar pieces by two later figures from the same tradition. Written in 1914, near to the end of its composer’s life, Karl Goldmark’s Second Piano Quintet shares the bill with Alexander Zemlinsky’s Hunting Piece for two horns and piano, dating from his American exile in 1939.

This concert is part of the CAVATINA Chamber Music Trust ticket scheme, offering free tickets to those aged 8-25
