With its long and distinguished history added to its impressive as well as comprehensive discography, the Belcea has written its name into the history of string quartets. Its programme comprises works by three undoubted masters of the medium, beginning with Schubert’s early piece (1813) and continuing with Dvořák’s mature example (1879) and the challenging Fifth Quartet of Bartók (1934).
