Change of Artist

Hilary Hahn (violin) must regrettably withdraw from her planned trio performances with Rudolph Buchbinder (piano) and Gautier Capucon (cello). While Hilary Hahn is improving steadily from her injuries and is expected to recover in time for the majority of her engagements this autumn, her medical team has advised her to pull out of these concerts due to the potential for hindering her progress.

We are grateful to Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider (violin) for stepping in as her replacement for this concert - the programme remains the same.

Overview

Three acclaimed musicians, each a top-ranking soloist in their own right, come together to perform beloved works from the piano trio repertoire, selecting both of Schubert’s large-scale examples, written during the final two years of his brief life. The second includes a slow movement of particular poignancy, based on a Swedish folksong.
