    Overview

Mozart created his First Flute Concerto in 1778 during a visit to Mannheim, where Christian Cannabich was busy raising its court orchestra into one of Europe’s finest. While there, he fell in love with the soprano Aloysia Weber and wrote a series of dazzling concert arias for her. Adrian Butterfield’s London Handel Players, with two celebrated guest artists, are set to unleash the fizzing energy of Mozart’s youthful compositions.
