    Overview

Described by San Francisco Classical Voice as ‘a force of nature’, Kate Lindsey confirmed her star status in October 2024 with a sensational performance as Oktavian in Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier at La Scala, Milan. The American mezzo-soprano turns here to music from Agrippina, Handel’s breakthrough opera, written in 1709 during his stay in Italy, and the sacred cantata Donna, che in ciel, possibly written to mark the sixth anniversary of an earthquake that struck Rome in 1703.
