Overview

The renowned Pavel Haas Quartet returns to Wigmore Hall with a programme of Czech masterworks. Suk’s heartfelt Meditation and Janáček’s impassioned 'Intimate Letters' precede Dvořák’s radiant Op. 97 String Quintet, created during the composer’s summer stay in Spillville, Iowa in 1893 and distinguished by its beguiling blend of Bohemian folk flavours and themes imbued with ideas absorbed from Native American and African-American music.
