Sterling Elliott’s soulful artistry graced an all-American programme at his last Wigmore Hall appearance. The cellist, a current BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist, returns with two British masterworks. He pairs Frank Bridge’s elegiac Cello Sonata in D minor, first performed at Wigmore Hall in 1917, with the Cello Sonata in C written for Mstislav Rostropovich by Bridge’s student, Benjamin Britten.
