Overview

Partsongs, solo songs and dialogues for voices and lute make up the last of Dowland’s songbooks, published in London in 1603. Dowland cultivates a quality of seriousness in its 21 pieces, expressed in such heart-rending songs as ‘Time stands still’, ‘I must complain’ and ‘Weep you no more, sad fountains’.
