Overview

Vinzenz Lachner’s arrangements of Beethoven piano concertos for piano and string quintet, made in the 1880s, were preserved in the archive of the Beethoven House in Bonn until their publication in the 2010s. Paul Lewis, the Vertavo Quartet and Tim Gibbs bring their deep collective understanding of Beethoven’s music to Lachner’s sophisticated transcriptions of the original scores, which cast fresh light on these well-known works.
