Overview

Praised by the Sunday Times for the ‘passion and clarity, intellect and emotion’ of its music making, Norway’s Vertavo Quartet celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2024. It is joined by Paul Lewis and Tim Gibbs in Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto in an arrangement made in 1881 by Vinzenz Lachner, one of four brothers who became composers, and end with Schubert’s melancholy, often tempestuous ‘Quartettsatz’.
