(with poems written and narrated by Ruth Padel)

Overview

The world-changing force of Christ’s crucifixion and the darkness that descended on the first Good Friday pervade Haydn’s Seven Last Words of Our Saviour on the Cross, a series of instrumental reflections originally conceived for performance during a dramatic Holy Week service at Cádiz Cathedral. Acclaimed poet and author Ruth Padel provides her own reflections on Jesus’s final words of fear and forgiveness.
