Overview

Directed by Kim Pearce. Costumes by Harry Evans.

PIGSPIGSPIGS ('an absolute hoot' - The Wire Magazine) is a piece of folk horror musiktheater written and performed by Bastard Assignments. Complete with original songs, incidental music and a hymn, the group performs on pen lids, cooking pans, copper pipe, tiles, hoses and amplified twigs (alongside conventional instruments). PIGSPIGSPIGS is the story of an English farming family, already besieged by debt and alcoholism, that becomes troubled by supernatural forces channelled by their pregnant daughter-in-law. A Wigmore Hall commission, PIGSPIGSPIGS is a darkly comic fable, a piece of West Country gothic ('The Archers on speed' - VAN Magazine), from the minds of this unique composer-performer group.
