Overview

Fearless in his approach to great monuments of the piano repertoire, not least the towering works of Robert Schumann and Beethoven, Filippo Gorini is also a passionate advocate of new music. The Italian pianist, acclaimed by the Guardian for his ‘brave, original playing’, opens his latest Wigmore Hall recital with Beat Furrer’s Klavierstück, before presenting the UK première of Stefano Gervasoni’s Sonata, works created for Gorini’s mould-breaking Sonata for 7 Cities project.
