Programme

Overview

Named for Thomas Aquinas, the Christian saint and scholar who regarded music as an expression of ‘things eternal’, the Aquinas Piano Trio has earned rave reviews for its heartfelt, deeply intuitive artistry. It returns to Wigmore Hall with a fascinating trio of works that launches with the energy of Mozart’s final piano trio and flourishes in the concentrated lyricism of John Ireland’s Phantasie-Trio and Olympian heights of Brahms’s Second Piano Trio.
