Overview

Francis Poulenc’s prodigious gifts as a pianist informed his many compositions for the instrument. Paul Lewis launches his multi-season series at Wigmore Hall with an irresistible programme, framing the seemingly infinite delights and emotional shadings of Poulenc’s Improvisations, written between 1932 and 1959, with exquisite treasures by Debussy and the series star, Mozart.
